Urban fantasy focuses more on plot and thrill mixed with overt magic, paranormal fiction often includes subtler influences like ghosts and possessions, and paranormal romance is a beast with many backs that doesn’t have a story at all without the romance.
When you want to write quickly, the last thing you want to do is overanalyze as you go. From plot holes to spelling, all sense needs to go out the window. So of course what you’re left with may be a little less…desirable than you first imagined. It’s rough, baby, and that’s okay. We’ve just got to mine the gold out.
